Mark Cocker 'Birds & People' Lecture Wednesday 9th Sept.

19/8/2015

Please note Wednesday 9th September is the confirmed date for the guest lecture and NOT 10th September which has appeared on the earlier publicity.

Mark Cocker (author, naturalist and environmental activist) will be giving the guest lecture based on his recent widely acclaimed book 'Birds and People' on Wednesday evening 9th September at 7pm in the Peak Lecture Theatre at Sheffield Hallam University. This lecture is part of the Wild Thing?? conference which is running from 9th to 11th September and is organised by SYBRG. It is free to delegates but also open to members of the public for a small charge, £3 pre-booked or £5 on the door. More information and a booking form can be found on the event flyer which can be downloaded here.

Quotes from reviews of the book.

'A truly exceptional work, soaring in its scope, boundless in its interest, with an ambition matched only by its achievement... Strikes me as the kind of masterpiece that comes along only once or twice a decade.' Craig Brown, Mail on Sunday

'Might well be the book of the decade, not just for its lucid, lyrical prose but also its exquisite photography.' John Burnside, New Statesman
