Aviation researchers and historians Noel Ryan and Chris Percy have put their interest in aviation to good use by producing this book looking at the history of these two Derbyshire airfields, RAF Ashbourne and its satellite station, RAF Darley Moor a short distance away.

The book is filled with photographs and stories from the years the airfields were in service (opened in 1941) for use during WW2. After the War, the sites were eventually disposed of by the RAF in 1950s but the history of both sites is brought up to the present day. This includes a brief description of post-war use and also a description of the remaining structures.
